Newly Opened Locations

The Human Bean has two newly opened locations!  These two beautiful franchised locations opened this month in two new cities in Oregon; Warrenton & Wilsonville. Both Human Bean drive-thru locations received a warm welcome from their customers and surrounding businesses. Human Bean franchisees are happy to be open and can’t wait to get involved and give back to their respective communities.newly opened locations

Warrenton, OR

The Human Bean of Warrenton opened on October 4th and is the second Human Bean location opened by franchisees Kristi and Adam Israel. “We love being a part this franchise,” said Kristi, “It was important for us to be a part of a successful brand and The Human Bean has done a great job growing their business. ” She shared that her experience opening Warrenton was much smoother than anticipated. “We really knew what to expect after successfully running our Seaside location for seven years,” said Kristi.

Unique from their first location in Seaside, The Human Bean of Warrenton is located in a fast growing retail area. Kristi says they are prepared to be busier than ever and are excited to grow with the busy business district.

Community involvement is highly important to Warrenton franchisees, Kristi and Adam. “We try to separate ourselves from other local coffee stands by really standing out as a supporter of the community,” said Kristi. They are planning to participate in Warrenton community events the same way they also did in Seaside. They are ready to invest their time and resources to represent The Human Bean in a positive light.

Wilsonville, OR

Only 4 short days later and nearly 100 miles northeast of Warrenton, The Human Bean of Wilsonville was opened by franchisee, Josh Veentjer, on October 8th. This location marks the first of many as Josh plans to grow The Human Bean into a multi-unit franchise.  This would all be within the Portland metropolitan area. “Wilsonville is a very nice community and having only been open for two weeks, we are off to a strong start,” said Josh.

newly opened locations

The Human Bean of Wilsonville is unique. Instead of having two drive-thru windows, it features an innovative single sided drive-thru, plus order station and menu board. “The single-sided design allowed for greater flexibility situating the building on the lot.  We also had the opportunity to offer an inviting expanded patio for our customers,” said Josh. Wilsonville is only the second Human Bean to operate with this new design; Our corporate store in Newberg, Oregon was the first.

Our warmest congratulations to these newly opened locations and also to our franchisees Kristi & Adam and Josh for successfully opening their locations in Warrenton and Wilsonville. We are so happy to have you on our team!  We also can’t wait to see where you bring The Human Bean next!

Newberg features a single-sided drive thru. As a result customers place their order at the order station. This design was developed by The Human Bean corporate team. The corner lot was in high demand so a single-sided drive thru was developed.  Also Opposite of the standard double-sided drive thru of the brand. The new order station features a visual menu board, audio speaker post and headsets for the baristas. This effective ordering station allows The Human Bean to maintain the speed. Whether you are counting calories or simply trying to live a healthier lifestyle, this post will expand your coffee knowledge and give you the power of healthy choice when ordering your favorite drinks.

First, I will give you three simple tips and tricks to ordering a calorie conscious drink.

The Human Bean offers almost limitless healthy choices on our menu. All of these options are great and allow you to personalize your drink to your specific needs and desires. However, they can be a bit overwhelming when you don’t thoroughly know the products and what health choices are available. When ordering your next drink, keep in mind these three simple and reliable tips to a healthier you!

1.)    Fat-free or dairy-free is a healthy choice!

Substituting your favorite drink with a fat-free dairy or dairy-free alternative can cut you’re your calories in HALF! Swapping chocolate milk for non-fat milk in your mocha will reduce the calories and eliminate the fat, while still satisfying your coffee and chocolate craving.

dairy-free alternatives

Dairy-free alternatives, while not as well-known, can also be a great option for creating a healthy choice in your coffee beverage. At The Human Bean, we offer soy, almond and coconut milk at most of our locations. These dairy-free alternatives are low in fat and calories, contain no cholesterol and have up to 50% more calcium than dairy milk. Why not try soy, almond or coconut milk in your next coffee?!

2.)    Add a shot!

Espresso shot healthy choice

If you enjoy a strong coffee flavor, this is the trick for you! Espresso contains 0 calories and can cut anywhere from 15 to 50 calories from your drink. This trick works because the extra espresso replaces the higher calorie dairy or dairy substitute products. On your next drink, simply ask for an extra shot and you’ve got yourself a coffee with fewer calories and more of your favorite coffee flavor is a healthy choice.

If too much caffeine is a concern of yours, ask for an extra decaf shot of espresso.

sugar free healthy choice

3.)    Countless Sugar-Free Flavors

Where there is a flavor, there is a sugar-free flavor just as sweet. Replacing your regular flavored syrups with the sugar-free alternative can reduce your drink by 35 to 75 calories. This might be the simplest trick in the book, yet it holds the potential to have a lasting impact on your health. Like diet sodas, sugar-free coffees can be just as delicious as their higher calorie counterpart. Make the switch on your next coffee!

You now hold three simple tips and tricks to creating a delicious, yet lower calorie coffee. Don’t be afraid to experiment with your new knowledge to discover the perfect combination just for you.
