LastĀ Friday, Oct 23rd, marked our 10th annual Coffee For A Cure 2015Ā event.

On this day, The Human Bean donated theirĀ beverage and pastry proceeds to local hospitals to financially support women facing breast cancer. Over the past 10 years and with support like yours, The Human Bean has raised overĀ $850,000 through Coffee For A Cure.Ā  Just by buying your favorite Human Bean drinkĀ  you can support local breast cancer patients!Ā  This popular event is the highlight of every year at the Human Bean.

The Bean Hosts Firefighter Fundraiser

What: Firefighters held fundraiser for donations for the Stairclimb Event.
Why: The Stair Climb raises money in addition awareness to help fight & cure blood cancers
When: Wednesday morning, February 26th from 7:30am-11:00am
Where: The Human Bean of Ashland, OR

Results:

Firefighter from Fire District #5 raised over $1,000 on Wednesday morning at The Human Bean for the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb Event. The Scott Firefighter Stairclimb is a race up the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle being held on March 9th, 2014. Firefighters will be running up 69 flights of stairs in full fire gear and SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus). Also firefighters welcome the challenge, they are doing this to raise money to help fight blood cancers. All proceeds from the climb benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. So far this year, Fire District #5 has raised over $16,000 for the Firefighter Stairclimb.

More About the firefighter Stairclimb:

The Scott Firefighter Stairclimb supports the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through sponsorships, fundraising and entry fees. Also in 2013, the event featured 1,500 firefighters from 282 different departments. As a result this brought in a record $1.44 million for blood-cancer research and patient services.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world’s largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The society funds lifesaving blood cancer research along with providing free information and support services around the world.
