The Firefighters from Fire District #5 raised over $1,000 on Wednesday morning at The Human Bean for the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb Event. The Scott Firefighter Stairclimb is a race up the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle being held on March 9th, 2014. Our firefighters will be running up 69 flights of stairs in full fire gear and SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus). While they welcome the challenge, they are doing this to raise money to help fight blood cancers. All proceeds from the climb benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. So far this year, Fire District #5 has raised over $16,000 for the Firefighter Stairclimb.
