We love The Human Bean so much and what the company stands for and are so grateful for the opportunity to grow in this community,‚ÄĚ says Lauren Karcher. The Karchers also own three other locations in Salem, Keizer and Eugene as well.¬† They are planning on opening a 5th location in Springfield soon.

The Human Bean’s commitment to developing the best drive-thru espresso led us to franchising The Human Bean’s brand and system in 2002. We are also proud to announce that with the opening of this location The Human Bean has now expanded to 75 locations in ten states. 62 of those being franchised locations and 13 being corporate locations. We expect to continue this growth and have plans to open several more locations in the near future.

Opening Soon, The Human Bean Missouri

The Human Bean Missouri will be opening soon and will also be the first in the state!

About the Human Bean

With a passion¬†for creating happy people and our love of coffee, we opened our first drive-thru espresso stand in Ashland Oregon in 1998. The demand for The Human Bean’s convenient, consistent and customer focused¬†brand¬†grew and soon after opening in¬†Ashland, we expanded to surrounding cities in Oregon and steadily grew to¬†nearby¬†states.

This season, we are excited to announce that we are bringing The Human Bean to state number 9 with the opening of our 58th location in St. Joseph, Missouri!

Missouri

Located along the Missouri River and about 60 miles north of Kansas City, St. Joseph is rich with history.  It is also home to almost 80,000 residents. Among those residing in St. Joseph is HB franchisee, Erin Albright-Milek.

About Erin Albright-Milek, Owner

Albright-Milek discovered The Human Bean while vacationing in Albany, OR. She fell in love with the¬†brand.¬† She was also¬†impressed by the qualified¬†baristas that took her order. Once she tasted¬†her Snowy Mocha with¬†The Human Bean’s signature chocolate covered espresso bean on top, she was hooked!

After visiting additional¬†locations and learning more about the¬†brand, Albright-Milek discovered¬†The Human Bean Franchise offered something special.¬†The fun atmosphere and positive spirit demonstrated by the baristas was contagious.¬†¬†“We¬†want to¬†offer the¬†same great experience in our area,”¬†said¬†Albright-Milek.

In addition, The Human Bean’s focus on community involvement excited and inspired¬†Albright-Milek. Since 2002, The Human Bean’s largest annual fundraiser, Coffee for A Cure, has raised over $850,000 for local breast health centers. Along with her interest in participating in Coffee for A Cure, “we’d also¬†like to show support for other organizations in our immediate area as well,” said¬†Albright-Milek.

Albright-Milek and her team are working hard to open their first stand on 4414 Commons Drive in St. Joseph by early March. Once they become great at what they do and establish The Human Bean within the St. Joseph community, they also plan to eventually expand the brand to the Kansas City area.

The Human Bean expects to continue this growth through approved franchisees that share the same determination and commitment to our goals for this exceptional brand. If you are interested in learning more about The Human Bean franchise opportunities in areas that remain available for development, please refer to the Franchise page.

Newly Opened Locations

The Human Bean has two newly opened locations!¬† These¬†two beautiful franchised locations opened¬†this month in two new cities in Oregon; Warrenton & Wilsonville. Both Human Bean drive-thru locations received a warm welcome from their customers and surrounding businesses. Human Bean franchisees are happy to be open and can’t wait¬†to get involved and give back to their respective communities.newly opened locations

Warrenton, OR

The Human Bean of Warrenton opened on October 4th and is the second Human Bean location opened by franchisees Kristi and Adam Israel. ‚ÄúWe love being¬†a part this¬†franchise,” said Kristi, “It was important for us to be a part of a successful brand and The Human Bean has done a great job growing their business.¬†” She shared that her experience opening Warrenton was much smoother than anticipated. “We really knew what to expect after successfully running our Seaside location for seven years,‚ÄĚ said Kristi.

Unique from their first location in Seaside, The Human Bean of Warrenton is located in a fast growing retail area. Kristi says they are prepared to be busier than ever and are excited to grow with the busy business district.

Community involvement is highly important to Warrenton franchisees,¬†Kristi and Adam. ‚ÄúWe try to separate ourselves from other local coffee stands by really standing out as a supporter of the community,‚ÄĚ said Kristi. They are planning to participate in Warrenton community events the same way they also did in Seaside. They are ready to invest their time and resources to represent The Human Bean in a positive light.

Wilsonville, OR

Only 4 short days later and nearly 100 miles northeast of Warrenton, The Human Bean of Wilsonville was opened by franchisee, Josh Veentjer, on October 8th. This location marks the first of many as Josh plans to grow The Human Bean into a multi-unit franchise.¬† This would all be¬†within the Portland metropolitan area. ‚ÄúWilsonville is a very nice community and having only been open for two weeks, we are off to a strong start,‚ÄĚ said Josh.

The Human Bean of Wilsonville is unique. Instead of having two drive-thru windows, it features an innovative single sided drive-thru, plus¬†order station and menu board. ‚ÄúThe single-sided design allowed for greater flexibility situating the building on the lot.¬† We also¬†had the opportunity to offer an inviting expanded patio for our customers,‚ÄĚ said Josh. Wilsonville is only the second Human Bean to operate with this new design; Our corporate store in Newberg, Oregon was the first.

Our warmest congratulations to these newly opened locations and also¬†to¬†our franchisees¬†Kristi & Adam and Josh for successfully opening their locations in Warrenton and Wilsonville. We are so happy to have you on¬†our team!¬† We¬†also can’t wait to see where you bring The Human Bean¬†next!
